Merry Munich

Welcome to Munich! Meet your group and our Local Insider late in the afternoon for an introductory meeting, swiftly followed by a guided walk through the city and its world-renowned Christmas markets. Marvel at the trees, the lights and the hand-painted baubles, get some shopping done or simply relax with glasses of gluhwein (mulled wine) before finishing the evening with a hearty dinner in a traditional beer hall. 

Start the day with breakfast and a fascinating tour of Munich. The afternoon is all yours, you can visit a museum or continue the festivities with a Christmas concert, or you can make a trip to the fairytale Neuschwanstein Castle – go solo or join a group. Our Local Insider is there for tips and booking support. Meet again for Pink Christmas, a vibrant LGBTQ market held since 2005. Imagine a classic Christmas market but with extra glitter and lots more pink.

Take a morning train to Nuremberg, a city renowned across Germany for its Christmas markets. Join our Local Insider for a city stroll before lunch and an afternoon at leisure. At 4pm, you’ll tour the largest rock cellar labyrinth in south Germany, used to mature and store the red beer this city produces. Learn the history of these cellars, the local brewing traditions and sample beer before the evening train back to Munich.

Short but ever so sweet, largely thanks to all the gluhwein, your trip to Bavaria comes to end with one more delicious German breakfast. The rest of your day depends on your departure time. You might have to make a swift exit but, if not, you can always make a last-minute dash to the markets for that one gift you were on the fence about. After that, it’s time to say goodbye!
